The BPM Street Team is a proud organization with team leaders in many cities and states. If you want to become a BPM Street Team Member, this is what is required: About a month before the show in your city or town, a package containing posters, stickers, handbills, and other promotional items will arrive at your door. Since you are familiar with you town, hang the posters in the places that you have seen posters and fliers for other bands. Good places include record stores, vintage clothing stores, musical equipment stores, coffee houses, gas stations and any other place you feel is appropriate.
Many of these businesses will allow you to put up posters in the window and handbills on the counter. Please learn and obey all the specific laws about posting bills in your community. You can also pass out handbills and stickers to your friends and co-workers.
Another good idea is to go to the venue that BPM will be playing a week or so before the show and put handbills on the tables and at the bar. If you don't have time to be an official member of the street team, there are many ways that you can help promote the band. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of promotion. Tell everyone you know about BPM. Give the band's web site address to other music fans. Post on music related message boards and post the BPM web site address. The band appreciates every single person that gives of his or her time to promote BPM. Never hesitate to approach any member of the band and tell them the things you have done.
There are many benefits to being an Official BPM Street Team Member. The band has a line of member's only merchandise that successful street team members are given. Red work shirts with the "Grave Digger" logo are given to street team members who have "made their bones". The shirt will also have a patch with your name on it along with the city you represent. The red shirts are not for sale. Only the band can give them away. Other merchandise will be made available to the street team after you have earned your red shirt. At the end of every year, the band will choose the best street team leader and fly them to the BPM show of their choice.
